Forty seven year old Ken Onion is an American award winning custom knife maker located in Kaneohe, Hawaii, USA. Ken invented the "SpeedSafe" assisted opening mechanism for Kershaw Knives. Ken Onion custom knives are some of the most highly sought after knives in the world by knife collectors. Ken made his first knife in November of 1991 and has continued designing and making custom knives to this present day as well as teaching custom knifemaking from his home.
